When she contacted me, I just knew it was going to be a fabulous shoot... she has everything I like in a 'model' and as a person.  A great sense of style, a bit of femininity, a bit of rocker, a little hip hop, a lot of attitude and confidence, an inner peace and beauty, and a drop dead gorgeous smile.  She also really made me work!  I'm thrilled we hiked a mile or two just for a couple of shots though, it gave me the opportunity to get to know you all the better!  Good luck with your dance career, your pictures were my pleasure!  Here are a few of my faves:

Brianne

The beautiful and unique Brianne was a first for me, although a senior she is also quite an up and coming photographer.  It was my pleasure to be able to work with someone who knew what I was going for and who trusted it would meet with both of our artistic visions :)  She is so very beautifully tall and elegant, graceful and most of all strong ~ she knows her own mind and is confident in who she is at all times.  We took pictures in so many different places to show off the many facets of her personality!  Traipsing through the college in the middle of winter was definitely an experience, and showing off her fabulous taste in clothes was a lot of fun too.  I'm hoping her dream of becoming a star of fashion is realized as she joins the New York City fabulousness in fashion design this fall!!  Here are some of my favorites Bri...

Hilary

Soft spoken and gentle with an easy smile and laid back mood.  So very beautiful.  So very easy to photograph.  A grace and warmth all wrapped up in a girl who knows her own mind and heart.  I had a wonderful time getting to know you, and to spend time with you.  I could photograph you every day and never get tired of how magic the pictures turn out... and Tyler, SO amazing.  The way he would sweep you off your feet to carefully place you, and the sight of the two of you on your new motorcycle!  It was LOTS of fun.  You are my winter girl and it shows. Tiana

So much fun!  That's what I think of when I think of Tiana.  She is absolutely crazy, wild child and up for anything... but she is sweet and caring too.  I had way too many blurry photos because she made us constantly laugh during her photo shoot.  My most political senior, she has opinions (all wrong of course :p) and isn't afraid to share them... some girls are just all that and more.  Here are my Tiana faves:

Macros for Fun

So for the past few weeks I've been working with my intern, and its been a lot of fun.  She has a good eye for photography and I'm finding I love teaching more then ever.  Yesterday we were working on macros and I just couldn't resist a few of my favorites, and one of hers... and a fun 'n' funky one for her...

What Have I Been Up To...

    Well the simple answer is a lot!  There have been Seniors to finish up with, and to get started with, a whole new season (Seniors 2010 here we come)!  My niece had her first communion, and she looked gorgeous in her white dress.  We had spring break and Easter... so lots of pics with my son and nieces then too!  Hanging out with one of my brides, HI NESSA! and her bridesmaids was great (can't wait to get pictures of the beautiful and fun ladies).  So I thought I'd share some pictures of how things are going along!

Sheyrl

We really had a great time, even though there was a snake (yikes!) you were very brave!  I love that you were open and natural, it shows in every single one of your photos.  Another beautiful Homecoming Court girl, you could smile all day and my camera would love every minute of it...  I think we captured so many sides of you, certainly your fun, energetic, sweet, serene, and classic sides.  There were WAY too many photos to choose from, so here are my top 20:

Camille

Sleek, Sophisticated, and Stylish... Camille has it ALL going for her! Another beautiful homecoming queen, she has a grace that showed itself in every photo and in her presence all during her photo shoots. I had an absolutely wonderful time hanging out with her and learning all about her life, and the direction she is taking it, because this girl is certainly sure of herself! :) So Camille, here are my favorites! and my personal favorite:

Danielle

Petite, pretty, and powerful... that is Danielle. We've been hanging out for awhile now and I can't take a bad picture of her... she poses AMAZINGLY and has a natural way with the camera. I love that she can be soft and sweet then vibrant and dynamic in a flick of her hair or a tilt of her chin. She is so much fun to be around, and if anything is way too nice :) Here are some of my favorites!

Brooke

The lovely Brooke. She is probably the most certain and the most adventurous. She came to me full of ideas and she had a plan. She wanted to get wet. Really wet. So of course I put her completely in water. She wanted to ride a horse... so of course I put her on a horse. And she wanted to have fun, so of course we had fun :) Here are some of my favorite pictures from our time together!

Shelby

It has been one of my great fortunes in being able to photography Shelby. It is not so often that we come across a person who has such a vulnerable spirit with such a strong sense of self. Shelby is decidedly beautiful, and in my eye a classic beauty I feel privileged to capture with my camera's eye. But outside of the pure elegance and grace that I hope Shelby's pictures exhibit, I also hope they reveal her amazing capability for fun and her very soul satisfying need to care for others. She is a lot stronger then even she knows, and I wish her nothing but the greatest success in life. I could definitely photograph Shelby forever, and each time would come away with unique and gorgeous pictures of her, but also I just like hanging out with her... and Shelby, thanks for the super cool bracelet ;P

Emily and Family

Quite a while back I had the privilege of taking pictures of a beautiful little girl and her family in the midst of fall at one of my all time favorite locations.  Fall pictures are always special to me because they represent my favorite time of year, and this family was perfect.  I still have a few more Seniors to showcase, but I wanted to change it up a bit by adding these and letting everyone in on what an amazingly warm and generous family I was able to share time with, and what the absolutely adorable little girl who stole my heart ;p

Dominique

To the ever sweet ever fun Dominique. It was such fun to take your pictures as we traipsed all over the place laughing and having a good time. Your smile can light up an entire room. You do such a great job of putting people at ease and making everyone feel comfortable around you! You are my favorite cheerleader and Emcee! Thanks for sharing all the parts of your life (even bunny!) here are some of my favorites from your shoot!

Lauren

If they found out one day that comets were people, I'd know they meant you :) I've NEVER met anyone with as much energy and vivacity! You have a fabulous personality, and it's no wonder to me that everyone who knows you loves you. Your pictures took some effort, your sense of humor and attention span gave me a run for my money, but I think they turned out fabulous... here are my faves!

A Pause for Nick...

I interrupt this post on seniors to mention someone a bit special, his name is Nick, and he has been a part of my senior season this year!

 One of my favorite location is the skate park, it has lots of grunge and cool colors etc... and I like to take a lot of my seniors there, and this year it never failed that every time I did no matter how busy or empty the place would be, Nick would be there with his bike doing some amazing things.

Since he knew most all of my seniors, I couldn't resist adding him to my pictures :) So here are just a few of the pictures I have of some of my girls and Nick!

Jake

All BOY! Jake is rough and tumble, no pain no gain, to the limit guy. I'm super proud that he did up his own truck, that he is a great team player (regardless of the sport) and that he is apparently a fab friend too. It's been a lot of fun, him showing me my way around deer... and there were a LOT of deer :) And he's not to bad a driver on those crazy safari style vehicles either! Although I almost fell out of your 50 foot tall truck, lol, I still think that pic is the one that best fits you! It's been a great pleasure to get to know your whole family, and to see you all hanging out together... and I even got to hear more then 10 words from you, which I'm sure makes us besties :) Here are my faves from your session:  

Austin

We had lots of fun didn't we! Those mosquitoes were like trying to kill us in hordes! The prom dress ones were so much fun too. You are truly adventurous, climbing all over those rocks like a pro... I'm really glad I had the opportunity to meet you and take your pictures. You have a lot of different looks and it was really cool to explore them! I think you have an amazing future in front of you, with your strength and confidence you are going to have a full life and I'm glad I got to be a part of it!!! :) Here are a few of my favorite pictures from your session:

Courtney

Wow... such a BEAUTIFUL and amazing person I am happy to know.  She is not only stunning, but one of my favorite people ever.  She is confident, proud, sincere, dynamic, opinionated, passionate, and true.  One of the few people I know who carries themselves with stature, composure and grace.  It's her laugh that is infectious, her smile that is contagious and her raised eyebrow that is dramatic.  I tease her that she is the brunette version of Amanda Bynes, but Ms. Bynes could only be so lucky as to be like Miss Courtney.  I know we'll be friends for a VERY long time! 

I'm so glad to know you and your fabulous family :)

Josh

Finally your showcase! Well whether it was wintery weather or crazy walking over rocks you've proved to have for more stamina and agility then I :) To be expected from such an athlete... but not only are you an athlete, you are genuinely a funny, wonderful person. You make it very easy for others to be around you. You laugh quickly and easily. You tease and play, and yet there is such inner strength inside you. I LOVE your confidence, because it photographs so well, but more then that I loved getting to know you and your family. You're one of the hardest working seniors I know, in all walks of life, and you deserve every good thing that comes your way! SO to Mr. Quarterback, Mr. Basketball, and to the race winner, here are MY favorite of your images!! Thanks Josh... that was a lot of fun ;)

Allison

My Queen ~ Homecomming Queen that is ;p I had so much fun getting to know you, you are so unique, so truly beautiful from your soul, that it was my priveledge to get to take your pictures! Your magic eyes, and showstopping smile. You are a little bit crazy, and a whole lot of funny, and you have a sort of laid back style with a funky edge that totally suits you! One of the most sensitive, sweet girls who in reality is not afraid of getting dirty and doing 'boy' things! As beautiful as any girl I know, and not afraid to be a girly girl, but also completely ok with standing in the mud! (And I know I made you do it enough ~ flood week!) There were way too many pictures to choose from... I always say that, but its totally true with you, I could take your picture all the time and know that they will always turn out amazing... You are someone who moves!  From every move you make you can tell that you are a dancer.  Graceful, elegant, and poised.  I had an amazing time taking your pictures and getting to know you.  You gave 100% and were always up for anything, your creativity was a huge help!  You are so vivacious and happy that it comes as no surprise what a great friend you are... so here are my favorite images of our time together!

Mid Fall Show and Tell

So I'm going to show off some of the fun things I've been up to!  Some client work, and some free time, all mixed together :)  All my Seniors have been fabulous!  And its been fun to stick with some of our fall family traditions...

OK... I have more seniors that will be going up, one right after another etc..., but I wanted to take a moment to share some personal images.  Some are of Remy since he just turned 7 and I HATED his school shots, and the rest are some fave macro's of random fallish things.
